Privacy Policy

Who we are

Ironmark Financial is a Canadian money education website. We do not sell insurance or investments and we do not give advice. Recommendations come only from Jackson Armstrong, who contacts you directly. In Ontario, life insurance quotes are prepared by a licensed life insurance agent. We work with Ontario residents only. If you live outside Ontario, we will let you know, and your details are not passed to anyone else. Our calculators are currently available to residents of Canada outside Quebec.

What we collect

Your name, email, phone number, best time to reach you, province or territory, the answers you enter into our calculators (such as birth year, income, debts, mortgage, savings and coverage), health-related answers such as whether you smoke, and, if you use our life insurance cost estimate, health and lifestyle details (date of birth, sex at birth, height, weight, tobacco, nicotine or cannabis use, medical conditions, medicines, family health history, driving record, risky activities, travel plans, job and income), the coverage amount and length you are interested in, the page address and any link you arrived from, and the date, time and wording of your agreement.

How you agree

When you select the button on one of our calculators or forms (for example "Show my family's number" or "Send my question"), you agree that Ironmark Financial may contact you directly with messages about your results and coverage options. Your details are not sold or shared with other advisors. You can withdraw at any time (see below).

Why we use it

Health details

Health details are sensitive. We collect them only when you choose to fill in our life insurance cost estimate, and only to prepare a rough estimate and quotes for you. When you select "Get my estimate", you agree that we may use these health and lifestyle details to prepare quotes, and may share them only with the insurers we ask for quotes. We do not sell your health details. We protect them with extra care and limit who can see them. You can ask us to delete them at any time using the form below.

Who we share with

Ironmark Financial contacts you directly. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with other advisors, and we do not receive referral fees for it. If you ask for a quote, we share only the details needed with the insurers we ask for quotes.

We also use service providers that store and process data for us (such as our customer database and website host). Your information may be stored or processed outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessed by authorities under local laws. We use contracts and reasonable security safeguards to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you are a prospect or client and for up to 2 years after our last contact, unless the law requires longer or you ask us to remove it sooner. We keep a record of your consent for as long as we rely on it, and a record of any withdrawal request so we can respect it.

Your choices

You can withdraw your agreement, ask to stop being contacted, ask what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to remove it. We will act on a withdrawal within 10 business days and tell any insurance company that received your details for a quote. Withdrawing does not affect anything done before your request.

Questions and our Privacy Officer

Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how Ironmark Financial handles your information. You can reach the Privacy Officer to ask a question, see the information we hold about you, correct it, withdraw consent or make a complaint.

We aim to reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
